Norm is a retired Naval Aviator and is retired from Tapestry Solutions, a Boeing company, where he worked as a field service representative to a planning system employed by the Navy. Norfolk’s Commodore Chorus was Norm’s first official foray into the barbershop world and he was the bass for the 2001 Mid-Atlantic District’s (MAD) Novice Quartet Champion, Chapter Four.
Having been classified as a bass since seventh grade, The School Board lets Norm sing the bottom harmony part but they make him pay for the privilege by learning lots of songs whose words (in the bass part) are doo, dum, bum, boo wah, and other such wonderfully easy to memorize phrases.
